Watermark is Jeff Hardin’s seventh collection of poetry. His work has been honored with the Nicholas Roerich Prize, the Donald Justice Poetry Prize, and the X.J. Kennedy Prize. Hardin will discuss Watermark at a virtual event hosted on Zoom on April 14 at 6 p.m. CDT.
Lisa Dordal teaches in the English department at Vanderbilt University. Her first collection of poetry, Mosaic of the Dark, was a finalist for the 2019 Audre Lorde Award for Lesbian Poetry. Dordal will celebrate the launch of Water Lessons at The Bookshop in Nashville on April 10, with additional readings by Destiny O. Birdsong and Kendra DeColo.
Tennessee Landscape with Blighted Pine, the award-winning 2011 debut collection by ETSU poet-in-residence Jesse Graves, is released this month in an expanded 10th anniversary edition. A poetry reading featuring Graves and Matthew Wimberley, with music by Michael Cody, will be held at East Tennessee State University on March 23.
From 1980-2017, Klyd Watkins lived near Radnor Lake State Natural Area in Nashville. The Wind is Sacred There is a collection of poems inspired by his walks at Radnor.
A Walk to the Spring House is the second poetry collection by Sue Weaver Dunlap, who lives near Walland, Tennessee. Her poems have appeared in Appalachian Journal, Anthology of Appalachian Writers, and Southern Poetry Anthology.
Even When We Sleep, due in June 2022, is the latest collection by Marilyn Kallet, former Knoxville Poet Laureate. Previous collections include How Our Bodies Learned, The Love That Moves Me, and Packing Light: New and Selected Poems.
