It’s enough to inspire poets around the country to start muttering about a Nashville dynasty: Vanderbilt University M.F.A. candidate Tiana Clark has just claimed another national honor—an honor won just last year by Anders Carlson-Wee, who earned his M.F.A. from Vanderbilt last spring. Clark’s chapbook, Equilibrium, is the winner of the 2016 Frost Place competition and will be published by Bull City Press in early 2017.
“This is a voice that knows the intelligence of passion, that moves through and inside the questioning of who we are in the structures of things we give the power to name us,” writes 2016 contest judge Afaa Michael Weaver.
