May 24, 2010 The numbers are astonishing: ten times in the past two years, Hohenwald novelist Sherrilyn Kenyon has landed in the number-one slot of The New York Times bestseller list. Kenyon already has twenty-two million copies in print of her paranormal books for adults, and those titles have been printed in more than thirty different countries. Tonight she launches a new series of books, this time for teen readers, called The Chronicles of Nick.
Kenyon launch events are famous for bringing out fans—known as Kenyon’s Minions, they often arrive at book signings dressed as their favorite Kenyon character—from around the world. Tonight’s celebration at the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs will bring at least one Minion (who has never before been on an airplane) from Adelaide, Australia. If earlier Kenyon book launches are any indication, there are sure to be other international guests, as well. “I love introducing my hometown to people from all over the world,” Kenyon tells Chapter 16.
