Shoving the Wild Beast into the Library

Claire Vaye Watkins, author of the story collection Battleborn and the novel Gold Fame Citrus, is one of literature’s rising stars, having already collected the Story Prize, the Dylan Thomas Prize, and the New York Public Library’s Young Lions Fiction Award. She is also a Guggenheim Fellow and was named to the National Book Foundation’s “5 Under 35” list of writers. Prior to her appearance at the Arts Building in Chattanooga on April 21, 2016, she recently spoke with Chapter 16’s Stephen Usery about her novel, released last fall.
