In Our Dark Duet Victoria Schwab brings her YA dystopian fantasy to a riveting conclusion as her characters struggle to conquer their demons and retain their humanity in a collapsing world. Schwab will appear at Parnassus Books in Nashville on June 17 at 4:30 p.m. Joining her will be YA novelists Madeleine Roux and Joelle Charbonneau.

With Mississippi Blood Greg Iles brings his epic trilogy of old violence and present-day loyalties to a thundering conclusion. Iles will appear on March 24 at the Memphis Public Library and on March 25 at the Nashville Public Library. Both events are free and open to the public.

Wally Lamb’s fifth novel, We Are Water, is a testament to the fact that families can survive almost anything thrown at them—murder, abuse, abandonment—if love remains. Lamb will appear in conversation with songwriter Mary Gautier on March 11 at Green Door Gourmet in Nashville in a benefit event for the Porch Writers’ Collective.

Be Careful What You Wish For

into-white-coverRandi Pink’s debut novel, Into White, is a Cinderella story that goes haywire when Jesus himself decides to grant a black girl’s prayer to become white. Pink will appear at the Southern Festival of Books, held in Nashville October 14-16.

Of Monsters and Men

June 28, 2016 Victoria Schwab’s young-adult dystopian novel, This Savage Song, pits darkness against darkness in a battle between monsters and humans. Schwab will discuss the book at Parnassus Books in Nashville on July 5, 2016, at 6:30 p.m.

Join the Invaders

April 27, 2016 Shirletta Kinchen’s Black Power in the Bluff City examines the way black youth in Memphis played a pivotal role in creating societal change, both before and after the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. at the Lorraine Hotel in 1968. In the end, the struggle for equality became a children’s crusade, with high-school and college students leading the way.
